It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 13th International Symposium on Ultrafast Phenomena and THz Waves (ISUPTW 2026) , which will be hosted by the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University in Hangzhou, China from April 27 to 30, 2026.

Initiated in 2002, ISUPTW is a biennial international symposium that serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration and exchange among researchers worldwide, spanning both academia and industry. The symposium aims to advance the development of Ultrafast Phenomena and THz Science and Technology. Previous editions have been held in major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Tianjin, Xi'an, Wuhan, Chongqing, Changsha, Chengdu, Qingdao, and Guangzhou. ISUPTW typically attracts 150–400 participants from more than 10 countries, bringing together scholars, researchers, engineers, and students.

ISUPTW 2026 will feature two symposia covering a broad scope from basic research to applications with key focus areas including THz Science and Technology and Ultrafast Phenomena. Authors of all presented contributions will have the opportunity to publish their papers in the IEEE Conference Proceedings (EI indexed).

To recognize outstanding original contributions from student attendees, ISUPTW 2026 will continue to offer the Best Student Paper Award and the Best Poster Award for excellent papers authored by first-author students. Additionally, the Lingxi Award is introduced to foster innovation at the intersection of Terahertz technology and AI. The winners will be officially announced and presented with the awards during the conference.
